The PPH Foundation has taken the PPH Run beyond advocacy by twinning it with blood donation and distribution to “save mothers’ lives.” As part of the PPH Run activities, a Rural Outreach And Mobilization Initiative for Network Growth (ROAMING) blood typing and donation scheme will be implemented. This is an innovative scheme, akin to walking blood bank, designed to increase availability, safety and access of blood to mothers in disadvantaged communities. This will be undertaken in partnership with Eldon Biologicals Kenya, Kenya Red Cross Society, Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority and UNICEF.
