CHAMPIONING A NEGLECTED LINK BETWEEN POSTPARTUM HEMORRHAGE AND PREGNANCY-RELATED ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY

Activity Description

The End Postpartum Hemorrhage Initiative, through Dr Bridgette Wandji and Eunice Atsali took their agenda on to the Global Pregnancy-related Acute Kidney Injury Consortium during a forum held in Lusaka, Zambia, from 29 to 31 January 2026. The two presented the Initiative’s four-pillar approach, and outlined 2026 priorities in the forum which brought together obstetricians, nephrologists, midwives, and allied experts from the United Kingdom, Zambia, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Egypt, and Kenya to strengthen collaboration at the intersection of postpartum haemorrhage and pregnancy-related acute kidney injury. The organizers and participants were delighted to advance research on this area.
