The PPH Project is dedicated to tackling the global issue of postpartum hemorrhage, a leading cause of maternal mortality and morbidity.
The End PPH Initiative advanced the discussion about postpartum haemorrhage awareness at the Kenya Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society 50th Annual Scientific Conference held in Mombasa on 9th- 13th February 2026. Prof Moses Obimbo stated that ending postpartum haemorrhage requires stronger health systems that ensure every mother has timely access to skilled care, emergency blood supplies, and rapid referral services, emphasizing that PPH prevention is both a clinical and governance priority. Dr Kireki Omanwa underscored the importance of translating scientific knowledge into practical clinical protocols, while Prof Ann Kihara highlighted global collaboration and innovation in maternal health. The conference, attended by government and health experts, reinforced commitments to strengthen workforce capacity, commodity supply chains, referral systems, and maternal death surveillance to reduce postpartum haemorrhage mortality.
