Activity Description

The end postpartum hemorrhage initiative has pitched an attack on anemia as one of the ways of fighting postpartum hemorrhage. Anemia, before, during and after pregnancy is one of the main risk factors for PPH is Kenya, like in other developing countries of Africa and South east Asia. Prevention and treatment of anemia through nutritional interventions, micronutrient supplementation, value addition to food, use of hematinics were strongly advocated by Dr Anne Kihara, during a KOGS-Religious Sector caucus meeting held on March 27, 2025 at Pan Afric Hotel in Nairobi. The advocacy intervention will comprise enhancing community awareness through media campaigns and collaboration with religious sector organizations and their affiliated faith based healthcare institutions. The EPPH initiative leaders announced this following the KOGS-Religious Sector caucus meeting.
