The PPH Project is dedicated to tackling the global issue of postpartum hemorrhage, a leading cause of maternal mortality and morbidity.
Postpartum hemorrhage in rural communities is a neglected public health concern, yet over 90% of Kenyan women live in rural areas. The End Postpartum hemorrhage (EPPH) initiative is mobilizing Midwives, Theater nurses, Community Health nurses, and other grassroots healthcare workers to undertake community advocacy campaigns in rural areas of Kenya. The EPPH Global Steering committee launched its advocacy and community engagement pillar of the fight against postpartum hemorrhage by sensitizing and mobilizing over fifty (50) healthcare workers in Makueni county on 2nd July, 2025. The various cadres of health workers were drawn from Makueni level 5 county hospital, several Level 4 Sub county hospitals, health centers and private healthcare facilities.
