The PPH Project is dedicated to tackling the global issue of postpartum hemorrhage, a leading cause of maternal mortality and morbidity.
The End Postpartum Hemorrhage Initiative in Kenya led by Prof Moses Obimbo, continues to undertake sensitization and training for various cadres of health care workers to undertake advocacy campaigns. The second cohort of corps comprising over 60 men and women was drawn from in-service midwives, nurses, anesthetists and clinicians working in various Government, faith based and private healthcare facilities in Makueni County. The facilities included the Makueni Level 5 County hospital, level 4 sub county hospitals and several health centres. The training took place at the Makueni Mother and Child hospital conference room on 2nd July, 2025. It covered the risk factors, presentation, management and complications of PPH; the background, progress and achievements of the EPPH Initiative; neglected factors in PPH advocacy. The facilitators for the training included Prof Moses Obimbo, Prof Julius Ogeng’o and Dr Bridget Wandji.
