The PPH Project is dedicated to tackling the global issue of postpartum hemorrhage, a leading cause of maternal mortality and morbidity.
In a compelling spotlight session at the Grand Challenges Annual Meeting held in Washington DC on 3rd June, 2025, Prof Obimbo – the EndPPH Run for Her project lead delivered an impassioned talk titled “Run for Her – A Movement to End PPH”, calling for global solidarity and systemic change. Theme: Run for Her – Elevating Maternal Health on the Global Stage.
The presentation emphasized that postpartum hemorrhage remains one of the most neglected yet preventable causes of maternal mortality, particularly in low-resource settings.

The Run for Her movement was highlighted as a model for integrating public engagement with technical solutions. He invited the audience for the 2nd global PPH run scheduled for 28th September 2025 to be held in 10 different countries.
