The PPH Project is dedicated to tackling the global issue of postpartum hemorrhage, a leading cause of maternal mortality and morbidity.
The Postpartum hemorrhage management continuum is multi-faceted, involving mothers, Healthcare workers, Healthcare infrastructure and Systems; Community and public in general. One of the relatively neglected barriers to PPH management is the security landscape. The EPPH-I through the president of the Kenya Obstetrical and gynecological Society (KOGS) who is also a project co-lead, Dr Kireki Omanwa took the fight against PPH to the security sector by educating them on the seriousness of PPH and pleaded with them to always grant pregnant mothers security escort and free passage during socio-political demonstrations and protests.
