GLOBALIZING THE END POSTPARTUM HEMORRHAGE CAMPAIGN

Activity Description

Prof Moses Obimbo, the EPPH-i project lead on 4th August, 2025 took the End Postpartum Hemorrhage campaign to the world when he spoke about the EPPH Initiative during the launch of a 2.5Billion fund for women’s health. On that occasion, broadcasted by numerous media platforms, Prof Obimbo emphasized, “Women in low and middle income countries are facing a staggering crisis. It is not just during adolescence; it extends all the way through motherhood to menopause. Issues like poor pregnancy outcomes, postpartum hemorrhage, and hypertension during and after pregnancy remain significant burdens.”

The Gates Foundation, under whose auspices Prof Obimbo spoke, will channel resources into five priority areas that are critical for women in LMICs: Obstetric Care and Maternal Immunization, Maternal Health and Nutrition; Gynecological and Menstrual Health; Contraceptive Innovation, and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
