COMMUNITY CO-CREATION OF INNOVATIONS FOR REFLECTING ON POSTPARTUM HEMORRHAGE AS A LEADING NEGLECTED GLOBAL MATERNAL HEALTH CONCERN

Activity Description

Prof Moses Obimbo, the EPPH –i project lead on a global platform accorded by the Gates Foundation on 4th July, 2025 reflected on the need of community co-creation in innovations for combating pressing challenges in women’s health in Sub-Saharan Africa spanning from adolescence to menopause.

Commenting on the Gates Foundation USD 2.5 Billion fund on women’s health, Obimbo remarked that “On a personal level, I am particularly delighted that this investment program will address some of the challenges that women face in LMICs, particularly SSA. The work we do on ending preventable maternal deaths from postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and innovations addressing the challenge of preeclampsia will be strengthened….

Initiatives like the one I lead- the End Postpartum Initiative, Run for Her End Postpartum Hemorrhage – will now have a stronger voice to inspire further investment in maternal health.
