The PPH Project is dedicated to tackling the global issue of postpartum hemorrhage, a leading cause of maternal mortality and morbidity.
The EPPH-i has trained young doctors specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Obs Gyne Residents or registrars) to champion the fight against postpartum hemorrhage. The twenty postgraduate Obs/Gyne students were drawn mainly from the University of Nairobi. The training gave them insights on the global trends on PPH and advocacy initiative; the theory of change for the EPPH-i; ways of becoming an effective PPH advocate; PPH research-advocacy nexus and neglected areas in PPH advocacy. From the training, the residents were convinced that PPH which constitutes the largest cause of maternal mortality must be prevented at all costs. They committed to champion the fight, mobilize participants and take part in the PPH Run, 2025 scheduled for 28th September, 2025.
