PROMPTING AGA KHAN UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL TO CHAMPION POSTPARTUM HEMORRHAGE ADVOCACY

Activity Description

The fight against postpartum hemorrhage should adopt a multi-sectoral approach involving training and healthcare service institutions. The EPPH-i conducted training for in-service and pre-service midwives from Aga Khan University Hospital on 15th August, 2025 at NATIL House, Westlands, Nairobi. This cohort included some participants who serve far flung counties of Murang’a and Laikipia. The training entailed sharing experiences on the pitfalls, challenges and successes of managing PPH patients; the progress made by the EPPH-i; global advocacy initiatives, nuggets of effective advocacy, the need to utilize data and incorporate hitherto neglected areas like involvement of men, climate change, environmental pollution and sociocultural practices that increase risk of PPH.
