The PPH Project is dedicated to tackling the global issue of postpartum hemorrhage, a leading cause of maternal mortality and morbidity.
The University of Nairobi houses the largest number of pre-service medical personnel, and therefore has the highest potential to combat health problems. Consequently, the EPPH-i continues to increase the number of EPPH corps from the University. On 15th August, 2025 at NATIL House in Westlands Nairobi, an additional twenty-five (25) corps from the University of Nairobi were trained to fight PPH. These corps included a number of BSc Nursing students currently studying midwifery. The training was conducted by Prof Moses Obimbo, the EPPH-i project lead, and his colleagues Drs Anne Kihara, Kireki Omanwa, Eunice Atsali and Prof Julius Ogeng’o. Also attending the training were postgraduate Obs-Gyne students from the University pf Nairobi. The corps pledged support for the project and committed to champion the EPPH movement and to mobilize participants for the PPH run, 2025 scheduled for 28th September, 2025.
