A Night That Changed Everything

When Grace gave birth to her first baby, everything seemed perfect. The delivery went smoothly, and her newborn’s cry filled the room with joy. But a few minutes later, she started feeling faint. The sheets beneath her turned red. She was losing blood — fast.

The doctor quickly diagnosed postpartum hemorrhage. Grace’s blood pressure dropped dangerously low. Nurses massaged her uterus, administered oxytocin, and called for emergency blood transfusion.

Thanks to the hospital’s preparedness and quick action, Grace survived. But she later learned that many women in her village never get the same chance.
Her experience inspired her to start an awareness group — teaching expectant mothers to give birth in safe, well-equipped facilities.

“I never thought I could die from childbirth. Now I tell every woman — PPH is silent, but preventable.”
